Product Introduction

Launched in spring 2014, this tea was meticulously produced using traditional compressing process with selected raw materials from age-old trees deep in the mountains in the Yunnan Province, China. It has all the characteristics of the Menghai tea species. Mellow and aromatic typical of ecological tea, it is infused with the wild and free spiritedness of ancient tea trees. There is a hint of gentleness in the midst of strength, and an unexpected twist in a widely recognized taste. The appeal of sweetness interacts with that of bitterness, resulting in layers of rich flavour that are simply alluring. The glossy stout tea leaves give a crystal-clear and bright infusion with pronounced aroma that lingers on. Smooth and velvety with a rounded palate, it is a highly enjoyable beverage. Effort in protecting the tea growing region has led to restricted harvest. Each full-moon shape, flat tea cake weight +-200 grams, and 5 tea cakes make one bundle. The total amount is limited to less than a thousand, making this tea coveted for both keeping and immediate enjoyment. This premium tea from Yunnan harvested in the year of the Horse has benefited from favourable climate, and will continue to benefit from ageing in storage condition offered by Malaysia. As such, it is formally documented as “Ma Yun” for the fact that it is ideal for ageing under optimum storage condition in Malaysia and is hailed from Yunnan.
